The instructions are on the net at the VTX tech knowledgebase. The real upside of it is YOU KNOW what work was done and the torque levels everything is set at. Had all the room I needed to do the oil change safely, It was simple (20/25 minutes) and you can do it too. I jacked the bike up till two car ramps could be put under the tires and a cinderblock under the kickstand. Some guys just use a kitty litter pan to catch drained oil but I sprung for the 6 quart drain pan from my local Auto Zone, $6.00. My plan was to go to Harbor freight and secure a motorcycle jack, $50.00, a torque wrench $20.00, Mobil 1 MX4T 10w-40 full synthetic oil, 9.50 a quart, and a Purolator Pure One #PL14610 oil filter (metalflake blue!) about $6.00. And a special thanks to BETTY BOOP, I figured it was something that I could do myself. Thanks to the folks here who know the how/to's.
That was just labor, the oil and filter would have cost more on top of that. My dealer wanted to charge me $165.00 for the 600 mile service.
